Remarks. With a volume of more than 6 billion US-$, FPGAs are the fastest growing sector of the semicondictor market. More than 160 international conference series deal with Reconfigurable Computing. There is also a conference series on Reconfigurable Computing Education. You may download all papers from RC-education 2006 at Kalrsruhe.

There are masses of books on using FPGAs for a wide variety of application areas.  A comprehensive book on Reconfigurable Computing will appear 2007 with Springer Verlag: Christphe Bobda: "Introduction to Reconfigurable Computing Systems - Architectures, Algorithms and Applications"

Introductory  chapters on Reconfigurable Computing are found in 2 books:  chapter 19:  "Morphware and Configware"  in:  Albert Zomaya (editor): Handbook of Nature-Inspired and Innovative Computing: Integrating Classical Models with Emerging Technologies;  Springer Verlag, 2006; and,  the chapter "Basics of Reconfigurable Computing"  in:  Joerg Henkel und Sridevan Parameswaran (editors): Designing Embedded Processors.
